EPFL Summer School: Build Your Own Mobile Robot
EPFL Summer School: Build Your Own Mobile Robot
During the summer of 2025, I had the opportunity to participate in the “Build Your Own Mobile Robot” program at EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) in Switzerland.
It was an incredible experience where I learned how to combine software and hardware. Over four days, we went from learning basic microcontroller programming to designing 3D chassis, filtering sensor data, and implementing artificial neural networks.
I have documented the entire journey day by day. You can explore the project through the links below:
Project Diary
- Day 1: Interaction with the Environment - Sensors, Actuators, and MicroPython.
- Day 2: Mechanics & CAD Design - Tinkercad, Laser Cutting, and Assembly.
- Day 3: Controlling the Robot - Signal Processing, State Machines, and Radio Control.
- Day 4: Machine Learning & Neural Networks - Deep Learning basics.
